Arrow Cast
One of the best experiences in autograph hunting is when unexpected opportunities arise. Sure, hunting a celebrity down is fulfilling, but there's also something special about those encounters that fall into your lap. The Arrow cast signing, that DC hosted at 2013's WonderCon, was one such instance.
In typical Sunday convention fashion, the line to hit the floor on the last day of WonderCon 2013 was much shorter than other days. In addition to it being typical for a Sunday, this one was even more so, as Josh Whedon was hosting his Much Ado panel in an adjacent hall, which attracted a great number of attendees. Upon hitting the floor at opening, I noticed a number of people heading directly to the DC booth and, in typical SDCC fashion, lining up without a clue as to the purpose of the line. Eventually, DC employees made their way around and placed wristbands on us for an Arrow cast signing to take place later that day.
I later returned to a long line of wristband-wearing Arrow fans and we gradually made our way to the front where we were given an awesome Arrow poster and access to most of the star cast members. I am a huge fan of the show, so to stumble into this opportunity was beyond awesome.
Once at the front of the line, we were greeted by stars Stephen Amell, Colin Donnell, Willa Holland, Paul Blackthorne and executive producer Marc Guggenheim. Although Paul Blakthorne didn't seem very excited to be at the signing, the rest of the group more than made up for it, with their infectious enthusiasm. Amell, Donnell, and Holland were all open to multiple photographs and hammed things up as best they could. Amell seemed particularly grateful of the fan love.
In the end, it was a very positive experience and the cast made it so that I root for them to have a long and successful run, even more than previously.
