Anacon 2014 took place Sunday, June 8, 2014, at:

EMBASSY SUITES
ANAHEIM SOUTH
11767 HARBOR BLVD
GARDEN GROVE, CA 92840

Admission = $5

Anacon 2014 was almost like a trip back in time when the convention scene was dominated by hotel shows.  This show
was a nice mix of comics, clothes and collectibles.  The collectibles ran from vintage to new toys.  I am not an expert so couldn’t comment on prices but did pick up the Marvel Universe Hercules figure pictured for $8 which was a better price than retail.  When the 50 cent comics were upgraded to a quarter bin, I did pick up a dollar’s worth of comics (Noble Causes from Image).   There were a few different comic dealers but it was mostly books from the bronze age forward.  There were a few artists displaying but it was very light on that element.  Cosplay was well represented with a table for Cobra, Ghostbusters and Star Wars which included an impressive Wookie cosplayer.  You could find much lego and always the ubiquitous Pop Vinyl figures.  Build-A-Rama had these new excellent Lego Mini-Fig cases they designed with cardboard display cards going for the nostalgia crowd.  If they had the appropriate card, I would have got one and will be checking back with them as they increase their selection.
